Carolina del Norte – Estados Unidos.- En las últimas horas murieron siete personas contagiadas con coronavirus COVID-19 en Carolina del Norte, estado que ahora alcanza los 306 decesos durante la pandemia.
En el balance diario que hacen las autoridades de la salud se indica que 9.142 son portadoras de la nueva cepa en el estado.
Hasta ahora se han confirmado casos en 95 de los 100 condados de Carolina del Norte. Cuatrocientas setenta y tres personas permanecen hospitalizadas.
Mecklenburg se mantiene como el condado con más casos (1,492) y más decesos (41), según el reporte del Departamento de Salud y Servicios Humanos.
En el estado la población mayor de 65 años representa el 86% de los decesos a pesar de que este grupo tiene 24% de las personas contagiadas.
El Departamento de Salud y Servicios Humanos aclara en su sitio web que el balance de casos excluye a personas que tenían síntomas mínimos o ninguno y que no fueron examinadas, que tenían síntomas pero no buscaron atención médica o que la buscaron pero no se hicieron las pruebas.
