Charlotte, NC.- A medida que el condado Mecklenburg se prepara para las elecciones del 7 de noviembre, los números iniciales de la votación anticipada han comenzado a tomar forma, y los hispanos juegan un papel significativo.
Datos suministrados por Lennin Caro, un investigador comunitario de CAMINO y miembro de la campaña «Latino, Tu Voto Cuenta», han arrojado luz sobre la representación de votantes hispanos.

Hasta el 30 de octubre, 15.354 votos ausentes/anticipados se han emitido en el condado Mecklenburg. Del total, 258 provienen de votantes hispanos registrados, es decir, 1.7% del total de votos emitidos.
Hispanos han votado en Mecklenburg
El desglose proporcionado por Caro muestra que de los 258 votantes hispanos, 113 son hombres, 143 son mujeres y 2 no han especificado su género.
Los municipios donde más votos hispanos se han registrado incluyen Charlotte con 183, seguido de Huntersville con 38, Matthews con 12, Pineville con 13, Cornelius con 10 y Davidson con 2.
En cuanto a los métodos de votación, 250 votantes hispanos optaron por la votación anticipada en persona, mientras que 8 utilizaron el envío por correo.

La edad promedio de estos votantes hispanos se sitúa en 51.8 años.
En el condado Mecklenburg, más de 43.000 latinos están habilitados para votar. «Latino, Tu Voto Cuenta», liderada por Latino Civic Engagement Committee, invita a los hispanos a participar en las elecciones.
